The Dave Rave Experience

Spring is the best time of year in Athens.  Athens comes alive with house parties, and uptown is bumping every night as graduating seniors make the best of their last days in fantasy land.  Fest Season kicks off this Saturday with the High Street block party, aptly named “High Fest”.   We are hosting the unofficial High Fest tonight at The Union – a Cumulus Entertainment DUB101 event featuring a lineup packed with Ohio-based talent – Slave (Kent, OH), Elton Mack (Dayton, OH) and Columbus’ own Kingpin, co-founder of the Ohio Stand Up blog.  Local support comes from DJ Technician and Capt PlannedIT.

Slave (aka David Timko) recently had his interpretation of the Star Wars Imperial March, Dubstep Strikes Back, featured on Dubstep.net.  Check out his SoundCloud page for more mixes and originals.

Our next Dave Rave in Athens is Friday, April 27th.  Athens biggest spring block party, Palmerfest, is the following day, so you should think about spending next weekend with us in Athens.  Here are some recently released tracks you can expect to hear us hammering at our Dave Rave events this spring.

Nari & Milani – Atom (Original Mix) [Size]

Nari & Milani’s latest, Atom, is the last of our favorite tracks from the Swedish House Mafia’s historic Madison Square Garden show to be released.  From what we could tell, this track was big in Miami, and you’ll probably hear it hammered all summer long at outdoor festivals.  It’s a pretty minimal track, but it still sounds big.

Chuckie – Together (Original Club Mix) [Cr2]

Chuckie was recently announced as the headliner for Dayglow Columbus on May 17th.  His latest release Together, is a fun, bouncy track with a catchy vocal that’s already become one of DJ B-Funk‘s favorites.

Cedric Gervais – Molly (Original Mix) [Spinnin]

We haven’t heard much from Cedric Gervais, but his latest, Molly,  was recently featured as Pete Tong’s essential selection.  This is a timely track because everyone seems to be looking for Molly, even Madonna at Ultra Music Festival.  We’ve seen acid basslines making a big comeback recently, and this song has a great one.

Mark Knight – Alright (Original Club Mix) [Toolroom]

Allright is part of Mark Knight’s Bullets EP Volume 2 released on his Toolroom label.  The first volume featured his mega hit Devil Walking, and Allright is destined to be a big hit this summer.

Prok & Fitch – Symphony (Original Mix) [Stealth]

Prok & Fitch’s latest Symphony is a tech house track with a lot of energy and an emotionally charged vocal.  This is my favorite tech house track of the moment.
